There's No Such Thing As Too Soon To Plan!

When it comes to early holiday planning and spending, there's no such thing as too soon. In fact, right now is the ideal time to start making holiday plans. Most people can barely get the kid's Halloween costumes put away, or pick the Thanksgiving turkey from their teeth before Christmas has caught them completely off guard.

Generally speaking, if we wait until the last minute to shop for food, purchase gifts and other holiday preparations, it amounts to a big inconvenience, as well as a bigger holiday spending bill. With the job market and economy like it is this year, waiting to make necessary holiday purchases may prove even more costly. Not only will you end up shelling out more money for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gifts, but it is doubtful that you'll be able to find all those little specialty items that may be on your list.

Statistics have shown that each year, merchants began setting out their holiday wares just a little bit earlier than the last year. This encourages early shopping, but also tends to deplete store supplies earlier. When the economy is pretty good, it's typically not a problem to stack up on popular items. However, when the economy is suffering, merchants are limited on what inventory they purchase in advance of the holidays. Sometimes, if there isn't a big enough demand for a product, they may not be in a position to re-order items.

Besides the obvious ones of saving money and securing the items you want, there are many other benefits to be gained from early shopping and holiday preparation. They include:

1) Less stress from the hassle of crowded stores, streets, and parking lots
2) Enough time to reconsider purchases and make any necessary exchanges
3) Less time running around and more time spent with family and friends

If that's not enough reason to start preparing for your holiday plans and spending, I don't know what is!
